Reaching the forest's edge he came to a halt. For a moment he looked behind him, hoping the half blood wouldn't get herself into anymore trouble than she was already in. The sun was now almost completely hidden, soon it would be nightfall, which would bring even more trouble. Night was the time that scavengers as well as smaller predators came out to hunt / feed for the day. It was usually safer at this time because it was easier for them to hide in the dark and less wolves were lurking about. Obviously, this wasn't always true but either way this was the time scavengers came out. Turning his gaze back to the forest he scented the air. He could smell deer not too far off. Hunting alone proved difficult at times but he had gotten used to it, and if done right they usually didn't get a chance to see him coming. Moving forward in a trot he began to follow their tracks, hopefully he could get this done and over with quickly. When the scent was strong he slowed his pace and lowered himself slightly. There was no grass here to keep him hidden, he would have to rely on the trees to hide him and prevent the deer from escaping. Slinking from tree to tree he spotted a young buck eating wild black berries from a bush. Usually when wolves hunt alone they wouldn't attack a buck due to the amount of damage they could receive. It wasn't wise move to try and take down a healthy buck without a pack, a lone wolf wouldn't be stupid enough to do this. Trent, however, was that stupid. It wouldn't be his first time going after a buck, but it would be his first time taking down a healthy buck with antlers. Slowly he approached the buck, making sure to stay silent and low to the ground. As he got nearer the buck noticed him and froze, staring at the young wolf. Trent wasn't going to give the buck a chance to take flight. Lips curled back and he charged forward, the buck however, didn't flee. Trent noticed this but decided that the buck wasn't going to be able to do anything. Once close to the buck he lept up, fangs reaching out to grab onto the deer's shoulder, as the neck was currently hidden behind the antlers. The dumbfounded deer finally reacted, whipping his head to the side and knocked his antlers into Trent's front left leg and side. Whimpering the wolf fell to the ground hard, bruising his other side. There were puncture wounds from where the antlers hit, but Trent acted like nothing had happened and got back to his feet quickly. It did sting but he knew it was nothing compared to what the half blood must of been feeling so he paid no mind to his pain. Actually, he was glad this buck had hurt him, it would of been no fun if he hadn't tried to put up a fight. The buck lowered his head, preparing to charge at the wolf. Trent smirked and waited for the buck to make his move. When the buck began to charge Trent jumped to the side, he slipped slightly as he landed then lunged at the buck again. This time Trent was able to get a hold of his neck, front and hind legs clinging to the buck's neck and shoulder keeping him locked onto his prey. The buck tried to toss the wolf off but his attempts were futile, Trent stayed his fangs only digging in deeper. As a final attempt to rid himself of the wolf the buck reared, only to fall backwards, landing on his antlers and then rolling onto Trent. When the buck landed there was a loud snapping noise, both the antlers had broke but that was not the only thing. The way the buck fell, with his head pushed back, and the weight of Trent had caused him to break his neck. When the buck's dead weight fell on top of the wolf he whimpered and crawled out from beneath him. Standing over his kill he studied it for a while before turning to tend to his wounds. Licking the area he washed away the blood, making it seem as though there was no wound. The bleeding had stopped so he had a fair chance at keeping it hidden from the half blood. Grunting he bit onto part of the bone from the buck's remaining antlers and began to drag him out of the forest. Each time he pulled his left eye closed, trying to block out the stinging pain caused by the three punctures. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious, it would heal up nicely in a week or two. The whole ordeal was surprisingly longer than it had seemed, the moon was now up in the sky replacing the sun that had been there not too long ago.

The night came fast now; the sun dipped below the horizon and the pale moon slowly began to appear in the night sky. The soft glow of the moon and the slow change from light to dark helped her eye sight adjust quickly. Her pupils dialated, letting her eyes take in more light so she could see. She had heard that this was called night vision but to her it was natural, something she just did when it got dark. After a little while the coyote wolf laid her head down, wolfish jowls sagging in her unhappiness. He really wasn't coming back. Part of her has just assumed he would come back even though in some ways it seemed as though he completely hated her. But she also knew from some of the looks he gave her that he also pitied her.
A little more time passed but she still did not move, not even trying to leave. Despite the fact that she knew he wasn't coming back she still stayed. It was partially because she was exhausted from the constant throbbing but she also didn't want the leave. The urge to run was gone but there was still a dull fear in the back of her mind that haunted her. A sound distracted her; she glanced up, staring tiredly at the forest. A fox bowed out of a shuddering bush, its nose was lowered, bright eyes in the dark search for the scent of a corpse. It slunk forwards even after it spotted the half breed, its movement hesitating, as if questioning whether it could eat from the wolf that lay to her right. The thought of listening to the fox eating from the corpse sickened her. Though she felt bad for denying the cunning fox, she snarled lowly, causing the poor creature to grow rigged before fleeing back into the forest.

As he continued to drag the fairly large carcass his wounds began to bleed again. However, Trent did not notice this and instead of cleaning the fur to hide the blood he carried on. Almost out of the forest he heard a faint growl which almost caused him to release his hold. The first thought that came to his mind was that she had gotten herself into trouble, but when he saw a small fox dart towards the forest he rolled his eyes. Pausing he watched the fox, who had slowed down to study the deer before speeding up and running past the wolf and his kill. Turning his head to watch the fox flee into the darkness he continued walking. Thankfully the land was slightly down hill, though pretty much level, making it easier to drag the kill towards the half blood. He could now see her, lying not far from the mutt's corpse. Reaching her he dropped the buck's head by her feet. Other than where he had bitten onto the buck to kill him, not a single bite had been taken out of the buck. Taking a few steps back he stood and watched her, leaning to his right. No words came out of his mouth, he had yet to think of a reason for bringing her food. Waiting for her to eat his stomach rumbled softly, but he ignored it. He was large enough that he would last without eating, she on the other hand looked too scrawny. Trent wondered when the half blood last had something decent to eat. Golden eyes seemed emotionless as he watched her, waiting to make sure she was okay and for her to eat. Once she started he would be able to leave her again, he wasn't going to leave her by herself but he didn't want the half blood to know that. Looking down at her he finally spoke, getting annoyed with the silence. "Well? Aren't you going to eat it?" Words sounded almost commanding, though they were not meant to be.

The she-wolf blinked as the darkness that shrouded the forest shifted once more, like another, much larger figure was lurking in its depths. She stiffened, watching with dark eyes for the figure to appear; her lips pulled back in anticipation, the thought of it being the other wolf not even crossing her mind. He had abandoned her, left her there more then an an hour ago. She blinked as she saw a wolf exit the forest, dragging a large kill in its path. For a moment, her mind didn't register the fact that she was wrong but when she did she scowled. She was angry that he had left her, badly injured at that, to go hunt. She didn't care how skinny or hungry she looked. In truth, she was just angry that she had doubted him. Feeling guilty and angry at the same time she turned her head, trying to control her miserable appearance.
With a small thud, the buck's head thumped just in front of her. After a moment of stubbornly avoiding to look at it she noted its broken antlers. She also noted that she smelled very little of it's blood spilled though it was obvious why. The way the neck lay showed that its neck had been broken. Her inspection of the beast was halted as the other wolf's annoyed, commanding voice caused her to jerked her head down. Not speaking, she crawled forwards in and oddly obvious submissive manner. She refused to look up, as if shamed, as she bit into the flesh of the beasts shoulder.
Her eyes stayed locked on the wolf's legs, as she ripped off a piece of the bucks flesh. Then it dawned on her as she smelled someone else's blood. This was a buck, a lone wolf didn't just go and kill a buck. Her auburn eyes jerked up and stared at the bloodied wound, her lips curling before she jerked her eyes up to bore into his. "Your an idiot, you know that right? You go and protect me, get me a buck of all things and get hurt in the secondary battle of the night."

Watching her he questioned why she was being so submissive, but then he figured she was probably used to being treated like dirt. That was the case with most half bloods, that was why you couldn't trust them. When she started to eat he felt as though his job was done and he no longer needed to be there. As he started to move, shifting his weight onto his wounded side, he winced. Then he heard her words which came as a shock to him, it was apparent by the look on his face. At first he stared back into her eyes, but then his eyes darted to the ground looking back to her once before returning to stare at the dirt. "Hhmmm...." He sounded annoyed and it sort of sounded like he had been defeated, like was admitting he was an idiot. Looking back at her he growled slightly before speaking again in harsh tones, his eyes turning cold and angry once again. "I didn't do it for you. That mutt was in my way." Eyes once again shifted to the ground, their expression softening. Shaking his head slightly he looked back at her, words sounding defensive and childish. "I only brought the buck to you because I got full." After a slight pause he began smirking, his next words spoken in a mocking tone. "Besides, a half blood like you cant kill anything. So I figured I might as well help you extend your life a little longer. Who knows, maybe one day you'll make yourself useful." After his words were spoken he stared her down for a brief moment before turning around again. He started walking away, favoring his right side but trying not to limp, he wasn't going to let her think he couldn't handle it. Even though he wanted to leave, he was hesitating. Maybe leaving wasn't the best idea. Sighing he stopped and looked back at her.

Art's facial expression did not change as he realized she had caught him in his idiotic acts. His pause was long, as if trying to come up with a suitable comeback. After a moment he 'hmed', as if agreeing with her. Then, finally he seemed to come up with can excuse. The statement hurt but she didn't look away, even as it reached her eyes. As he continued with his excuses she rolled her eyes; she was about to open her mouth to speak her own retort when he spoke again. Her maw clamped shut, lips twisting in some invisible pain as he spoke, seeming to not care as his mocking tone continued.
The half breed's eyes lowered now, her head turning to avoid him noticing the tears that wetted her eyes and face. She was glad when he started walking away, she didn't want him hear or see her when she let his words sink in. She questioned the feelings she had all together now; how she was sad when he left, how it was shock and then slight happiness when he returned, how he caused her constant emotional pain. So, when he stopped and turned to look at her, wondering to himself whether he should go or not, her dark eyes jerked up. They glistened slightly though it might have been hard to tell with tears; the look distinctly said 'Go away'.

While looking back he noticed that her eyes were filled with tears. Looking down then turning away he continued to walk away. She was too weak, he wasn't going to be bothered with being around her. Grumbling to himself he headed for a rock formation a bit away from here. It was far enough away so it would be hard to tell what the other was doing, but still close enough so he could keep an eye on her. Snorting, he fell to the hard ground, turning his back to the direction the half blood was in. He couldn't help but think about the look in her eyes. Sighing he covered his head with his paws. "Did I do something wrong?" The wolf tried to bury his head into the ground but the rock wouldn't give way. Growling he lifted his paws from his head, allowing himself to look off into the distance. He paid no attention to the stars twinkling in the sky, nor the deer grazing in the field. It wasn't the direction he wanted to be looking, he wanted to look behind him. In doing so that would be looking to the past, dealing with things he normally would want nothing to do with. Perhaps the wolf instinct in him was finally catching up, growing in power and controlling his feelings. Sighing he lifted himself so he could change the way he was laying. He wanted to watch her, he would feel horrible if anything more happened to her. Resting his head on the edge of the rock he whimpered silently. The thought of her being hurt by something he did still made him sad. Tears began to form in his golden eyes, as soon as he felt the watery liquid he scratched his eyes with his paws and began to growl at himself. "What the fuck am I doing? I HATE HER!! ... Stupid half blood messing with my head....." His words were filled with hatred at the beginning but they turned softer and were mumbled in a sad way after his slight pause.

Art bared her teeth as the retreating wolf childishly before she snapped her head back to the dear. Just because the idiot had gotten it wouldn't mean she wouldn't eat it. She didn't get enough meals and she wasn't going to pass one up just because she got it from an ass. She tore at the meat with her canines, taking out her angry on it, pretending she was tearing out his neck. A soft growl exited her as she bit into a tough piece of flesh; she jerked her head to the side, trying to tear its hold only to remember her injury. Her jaw popped open, auburn orbs squinting at the sudden throbbing pain. She panted softly, bending her neck into a less exposed position.
A soft cackle came from a near rock formation, then another of a lower pitch. Two shadowed forms came from one of the many large rocks. Their bodies were held low and their bright eyes shown with a sort of mischief in the dark. She jerked, the movement causing another hot slash of pain to paralyze her head and neck. I wonder how such a weak and small wolf could take down one such as this. Said one, his voice loud and joyous as he moved towards the dead wolf. The other then drew near before speaking, it's eyes seeming to be more calculating but just as devious.
"Shes too small to be a wolf, brother." the other spoke, his calculating eyes staring at her. "She has a bit of coyote in her. A laugh of joy from his brother followed, bright eyes shifting to stare at the deer. "Why not share your meal with us, sister? His voice was suddenly mocking; he bared his teeth suddenly, not fearing her as how injured she was. In response Art snarled, painfully getting to her feet as she tried to stare down the two coyotes. They laughed, their gleaming orbs flashing in their joy. They did not fear her or her threats. "Shes shaking, brother. The louder one spoke in his laughing voice. "Yes, from blood lose, she must have gone through a great deal to get this deer." The other spoke, his voice threatening.

His head hurt so much right now, he just couldn't understand why he cared so much about her. Seriously, she was a stupid little half blood. Why would he ever care about someone like her? Digging at his head more his claws cut his ears slightly. The only thing that caused him to stop was a strange laughter. Paws went back to the ground and his head shot up and looked toward the half blood. There were two others near her, they were a bit smaller than her but there was something strange about them. They were different, but he wasn't sure how. Switching his glance from the odd... dogs to the half blood. She was standing up and it seemed like she was ready to defend herself. Tilting his head he decided to get up and creep closer for a better look, he couldn't really hear what was going on from back here but he was sure they were speaking. Something about this wasn't right, he didn't know what it was but he knew something was going to happen. It didn't take that long for him to reach them, as he was walking closer he heard one of the dogs say she was shaking. His lips curled back at their words, he didn't know them but already he didn't trust them. Something about their scent wasn't right, they were no dogs nor were they wolves. But what exactly were they? They smelt slightly like the half blood, perhaps this was what she was mixed with. Before walking out into the open he calmed himself down so he didn't appear that threatening or angry. He was in a relaxed pose, he tried his hardest to make the wounds on his left shoulder hidden but it didn't really work. Though he did walk almost normal, there was a slight limp in his walk but it was barely noticeable. Calmly he walked in front of the half blood and simply looked at the dogs. His golden eyes seemed bored with them, until he started to speak then they seemed to mock their intelligence. "Do you honestly think a weak half blood like this could do anything? Look at her. I bet even a cat could make her cringe in fear." Smirking he looked at her his eyes warm, it almost looked as if he was trying to tell her not to take much offense to what he said, though he was just looking to see her reaction. Looking back his eyes turned cold as he stared down the dogs. Hair started to raise on the back of his neck and his lips curled back. "Now get the hell away from her. Unless, of course, you want to end up like that mutt over there." With his head he made a gesture to the dead wolf. Once again he was smirking, this time his eyes stayed locked on both of the dogs as his look was meant for them.

Art was surprised as he stepped in front of her; she hadn't heard him because she had been concentrating on the two coyotes before her. The two brother's eyes also turned to look at him; the louder of the two seemed unshaken while the other seemed to realize the danger. Then he spoke, his voice mocking both her and them; his words made her jerk back in her reacquiring anger. He looked back at her as he finished, his eyes warm, as if telling her not to take it seriously. She did though. SCREW YOU! She voiced in her head, unwilling to voice it outloud because no matter how much she hated his guts right now he was helping her, again.
The two coyotes though seemed to be divided, the louder coyote seemed smug, as if he couldn't quite comprehend the fact that his intelligence has just been questioned. The other though had taken several steps back, his visage that had been cruel and mocking a moment ago was now shaken. "What can you do?" The naive coyote snarled as the wolf spoke again, clearly threatening them. Brother...? His head then turned to look at this retreating brother, calculating orbs frightened. "Don't be stupid brother, he'll rip us to pieces" The retreating coyote said breathlessly. "But he's injured as well! I can smell the difference of blood!" His brother complained, halting his brother's retreat, who seemed caught between staying and running.

Even with their obvious size difference one of the dogs decided to challenge the much larger wolf. Snarling back he took a few steps closer to the stupid dog. "You wanna see what I can do?" Eyes went from staring the dog down to looking at his retreating brother. When the retreating dog spoke Trent couldn't help but to laugh at them both. "Even though I'm injured your no match for me. I could take both of you on at the same time." Grinning his eyes went back to the dog who stood his ground. He still did not know what they were but he was going to have some fun with them. It might be true that he could take them both on at the same time, but he was still being way too cocky. Here he was saying stuff without thinking of the consequences, sure they were smaller but he was already hurt pretty bad and he had no idea how good they were at fighting. He was pretty drained from earlier but he could still take them on, just probably not at the same exact time. Trent really wasn't smart enough to be able to do two things at once. After laughing for a while he settled down and gave them a dissapointed look. "Well? I'm waiting...." Once again his posture was relaxed, he really wasn't expecting them to do much. One of them was already trying to run away so if anything he only expected to fight one of them and he was so tiny it wasn't like he could do much. Shifting his weight to his left he winced at the pain from putting pressure on that side. He was getting tired, after this was all over he would probably go lay down and try to hunt in the morning. Speaking of food, he had almost forgotten that he was hungry. Turning his head back he looked at the half blood, he was glad that she had started to eat. She needed her energy, it was bad enough she was injured, she didnt need to be starved as well.

The two coyote's seemed frozen, the one stared at his brother while the other stared at the wolf, as if deciding whether he could take on the injured wolf. They both seemed to ignore Art, who was fuming silently behind the injured wolf. She glared at him as he spoke again; he was being cocky and full of himself; she could tell that he wasn't at his prime, especially after seeing him kill that other wolf a few hours before. After a moment of glaring she decided if the two coyote's decided to attack she would help him fend them off, if she could anyways. She watched as his frame relaxed and as he spoke. Her orbs then flickered to the coyote's there was something different in their eyes; desperation.
The brothers' eyes held a note of desperation as he took his eyes off his brother, looking back at the wolf and Art. For a moment he did nothing and then suddenly he lunged forwards, aiming for his injured shoulder. Art unconsciously snarled at the movement and tensed, her red coat standing on end. Another movement caught her eye and she saw the other brother, the one who had been retreating, lunging for the dear. A primal instinct caused her to lunge at the other coyote, teeth bared. Though it was stupid, she was angry that the other wolf thought she was so weak. It may be true but she was tired of him poking at it like it was a fresh wound.

Studying the dogs he noticed a strange look in their eyes. They must of been starving, just as the half blood was. Any animal in this situation would do anything to get just mere scraps, and behind them was a large deer that was hardly touched. Tensing up he started to prepare himself for an attack, which came before he had a chance to protect his injured shoulder. As the dog lunged at him he moved to the right slightly and snapped at the dog's face as it went by. Shortly after he felt sharp fangs dig into his hind leg. Snarling he swung his head around with teeth bared, hoping to bite him back. It didn't really matter where he bit him, at least not in his mind right now. Remembering what he had said to them his eyes searched for the other dog. He spotted him by the deer with the half blood trying to protect it. Feeling a sharp pain he whined slightly then turned his attention back to his attacker. Lunging forward he aimed for the dogs neck. It could be over quickly if he just got a good grip on his neck, then he could go and keep the half blood from getting herself killed.8

The coyote attacking him missed his shoulder but was able to attach himself onto his hind leg. He latched on, jerking out of the way as the wolf snapped at him. For a moment, he noticed the wolf seem distracted and he glanced at his brother, who was being intervened by the half blood. Suddenly the leg that was clutched in his maw twisted as the wolf lunged at him; yipping, he lets the leg go and tried to scramble out of the way but fails. The wolf closes his jaws on part of his shoulder and lower neck.
While his brother fought the injured wolf he dove for the deer but was quickly stopped at the half blood lunged forwards as well, snarling. For a brief moment he was still and then his visage turned vicious as well. Snarling in his own anger he lunged forwards, aiming for the half blood's already injured throat, aiming to immobilize her, forever. She jerked her head down, avoiding the attack towards her throat but felt a sharp pain as the coyote caught her ear in his maw. She felt is rip as he pulled back and yelped; angered, she snapped at his exposed throat, catching fhis red pelt in her teeth.

As the strange dog's head jerked he could feel his flesh tear. The feeling made him whimper slightly but the whimper soon turned to a ferocious snarl. When he attacked he felt his flesh rip further, but he did not whimper from the pain. And soon he felt his leg being released from the trap. His own fangs sank into the dog's lower neck area, partly on his shoulder. Tightening his grip the young wolf decided to keep his hold instead of trying to get closer to the jugular. Angered snarls were muffled by the red fur that filled his mouth. He could smell the blood, the halfblood's, the deer's, his own, and now he was beginning to smell the blood of this dog. Yanking his head down he hoped to get the dog to hit the ground. There were a few rocks around, but there really was no purpose of his attempt to throw him at the ground, still having a firm grip around the lower part of his neck. Of course the dog had plenty of room to attack him even though he was attached to him. Golden orbs turned to look at the half blood and her opponent. She was fighting back, it surprised him that she wasn't backing down like she had before. Eyes turning back to his own opponent he released his grip and lunged at the dog again, this time hoping to sink his fangs into the poor dog's jugular.
[super crap, sorry x__x i will get back into him one day <3]
